School. Only one small — but widely hyped — study suggested that birth- control pills could reduce your free testosterone (the libido hormone) long after you stop taking them. But no other studies have found that, and experts almost unanimously dismiss it. In fact, it’s more likely that the Pill will actually kick up your sex drive buy taking away the worry of an unplanned pregnancy and relieving PMS symptoms. If you’ve just stopped the Pill and find you’d rather clean the bathroom than even look at the bedroom, consider what else is going on in your life. As Bachmann says, “Almost everything that determines sex drive is above the neck.”

The much touted beverage, drunk in China, Japan and the Middle East, has been previously shown to have a host of benefits including staving off cancers, helping the heart, boosting the brain and lowering levels of “bad” cholesterol.
Now, in the latest study, carried out at Tohoku University School of Medicine in Sendai, Japan, researchers looked at the diets and green-tea drinking habits of 41,761 Japanese adults aged 40 to 79.

Maintenance therapy with the drug pemetrexed improves the survival of people with non-small-cell lung cancer whose disease has not progressed after chemotherapy, a new study has found.
Nearly 90 percent of all people who die from lung cancer have non-small-cell tumors. At the time the cancer is discovered, it’s considered advanced about 40 percent of the time, according to background information in a news release from The Lancet, which is publishing the study. Chemotherapy reduces the tumors in just 40 percent of advanced cases, it said.
The phase 3 study included 663 people in 20 countries who had an advanced stage of the cancer but no disease progression after four cycles of platinum-based chemotherapy. They were randomly selected to be given pemetrexed or a placebo in 21-day cycles. [click to continue…]
